Since starting this blog, I have come to find that my work area needs to be reflective of what I am doing. I needed inspiration and mellow feels to be associated with where I work or I get distracted and in turn, produce nothing and fall behind. The great thing about blogging is that it is a self-paced job. But the more you post, the better your chances are of being seen. Therefore, I needed to make some changes.

Before I started this grand adventure, my desk area was a hot mess. I didn’t have any order or method, it was all haphazardly placed with no real theme to what I wanted. So I got on Amazon to find what I needed.
I have been considering a Himalayan Salt Lamp for some time now, and decided now was the time to try one out. I did a ton of research and ultimately decided on this B E A U T I F U L Natural Himalayan Salt Lamp. And because Amazon is so amazing, they even lined up the top selling lamps so that you can see them side by side. Which can be found by clicking here.
Now look, I am a skeptic for most things, and this lamp was one of them. I mean how can a block of pink (pretty) salt put you in a better mood? How on earth can it help my allergies? Is this thing really going to help me sleep?
In nature, negative ions are produced to combat poor air quality. In an essence, they act like magnets and attract the positive ions (that are bad for you and the environment) and neutralize them, making it not harmful. Salt lamps also put off negative ions, helping to purify the air. Science tells us that electronics are the reason for positive ions, so placing my new lamp at my desk seemed like the best place.
(now how will I know if they also help us sleep better?)
My favorite is how cool to the touch it is and still warm at the same time. I have poor blood circulation and my hands often get icy when I am typing. Every now and then I reach out and touch it. I am sure it won’t warm my soul, but it suits my hands just fine. The other benefit is how stinking pretty it is when it’s on. The cord has a super awesome dimmer, so I can turn it up all the way or dim the light, say when I go to bed.
Also at my workstation is my lovely flower vase that my daughter made me. I have a ceramic handprint from my little man, and I often change the words on my chalkboard when the mood arises. (Btw- that chalkboard is a cupboard door painted with chalk spray paint. the easiest decor I have ever made)
I keep photos of Matt and the kids near so that I never forget why I started this. They happen to be all that I need for motivation, as I want to give them the moon. Under my desk, you will find an old ottoman where I rest my restless legs when they get to going. (RLS is the pits yall).
I make changes all the time…
I love to rearrange things in my home often. My desk has moved 3 times since we moved here in August. When the feel doesn’t work, I have to go back to the drawing board. But I have finally settled on the layout for now. With my 100% pure Himalayan Salt Lamp, I don’t feel the anxiety of my space is wrong. Maybe that’s the salt lamp doing its job. Maybe my rear is just that happy. And I have felt so much more confident in my actions as a result of my calming space. If you are in search of these amazing qualities and feels for your own workspace make sure you check out the salt lamp. You will not be disappointed.
Am I missing anything? Did I leave out an important element that will help me be more productive? Please share it with me. I love shopping and I really love a good deal.
